Till 10,000 B.C.E human beings led a nomadic life, wandering in groups from place to place in search of food and shelter. Later, as the population grew they found methods to cultivate land and produce rice, vegetables, and other food crops. Thus, ‘Agriculture’ emerged. To provide food for a large population — regular production, proper management, and distribution is of vital importance. A series of activities are undertaken by farmers over a period of time for the cultivation of crops.
